This article is about the EY Catalyst Smart Daily Management application.
- Launch the Defect Logging module; or select the hamburger button in the top menu panel and select Daily Management > Defect Logging.
- Ensure that you have selected the appropriate context from the context menu.
- The defect schedule is displayed in two tables – Action List and Follow-Ups. The Action List table displays the action name, source, problem, operations owner, and due date for each action that has been added.
- To add a new action, select +Action.
- In the Detail page, perform the following steps:

- Enter a description for the problem in the Problem box
- Enter the required corrective action in the Action box
- Enter a description of the solution in the Solution box
- Select a source from the Source drop-down list
- Select the Due Date box and select a date from the calendar module
- Select Next or select Select Asset.
- In the Select Asset page, select the kind of asset the defect relates to, namely Asset, Level, Class or Hierarchy from the first drop-down list. Then select the specific asset, level, class or hierarchy from the second drop-down list. Select Next or select Assign To.
- In the Select User page, select the type of user you want to the defect-related action from the first drop-down list. Select the specific team, user role, or user to assign the action to from the second drop-down list.
- Select Next or select Expiry/Escalation Rules. Otherwise, skip to Step 11.
- In the Expiry/Escalation Rules page, you can choose whether to automatically expire the defect-related action or assign responsibility for escalating or expiring it to a user, team, or role.

- To automatically expire the action, select +Add Condition. Select Remove / Soft Delete from the drop-down list. In the mins box, enter the expiration time in minutes.
- To assign the responsibility for escalating the action, select +Add Condition. Select Assign To in the drop-down list. In the second drop-down list, choose whether to assign it to a user, team, or user role. In the third drop-down list, select a specific user, team, or role. You can also define a time limit in minutes in the mins box.
- Select Save Changes when you are done.
