This article is about the EY Catalyst Smart Daily Management application.
- Launch the Breakdown Elimination module; or select the hamburger button in the top menu panel and select Daily Management > Breakdown Elimination.
- Ensure that you have selected the correct asset from the context menu. Select the row for the breakdown you want to edit.
- Select Fix now.
- In the Summary page, select the Downtime Start, Downtime End, Repair Time Start, and Repair Time End boxes and select a date and time for each using the calendar tool.
- Select Details.
- Indicate whether the breakdown should have been detected using the CIL/Rounds by selecting either Yes or No. If any other equipment should be inspected for similar failures, enter a name or description for the equipment in the Other Equipment requiring inspection for like failure box.
- Indicate whether the required parts were stocked in the storeroom by selecting either No or Yes. If any spare parts were required, perform the following steps:
- Enter a description in the Spare parts name and type box
- Enter a numerical value for the cost of the spare parts in the Spare parts cost box
- Enter a list of the materials in the Material # box.
- Specify a degree of severity for the breakdown by selecting either Major, Moderate or Minor.
- Specify a category of breakdown by selecting either First Time, Repeat, or Not Sure if you are unsure whether the breakdown has occurred before.
- You can add additional notes in the Optional space for department use box.
- To assign follow-up actions to someone, select a person’s name from the Follow Up drop-down list, select the Target date box and pick a date and time from the calendar tool.
- Indicate whether the breakdown meets the criteria for an in-depth analysis by selecting either No or Yes.
- To assign responsibility for the performing breakdown elimination task, select the person from the Responsible drop-down list.
- Enter a numerical value for eliminating the breakdown in the Cost of repair box.
- If the breakdown qualifies for in-depth analysis and follow up, follow the steps in the article, Perform breakdown in-depth analysis once you have completed these steps.
- Select Save.
